After nearly 9 years the remediation project of the Rock Bay site in Victoria Harbour will go forward with the third and final stage.
The final phase was believed to be in jeopardy of going unfinished after the Federal Government got sticker shock at the cost of other projects, specifically clean up for the Giant Mine in Yellowknife..
But Victoria MP Murray Rankin now has conformation from Ottawa that they're still committed toRock Bay.
"It's a huge project, one of the largest in Western Canada. It's two thirds done and it would be a pity not to do the last phase of it," says Rankin.
A start date hasn't been announced yet.
