How you can help in Victoria
I've received many calls from people interested in how to help welcome refugees to Victoria. The information below will be updated periodically with new events and local intitiatives, so feel free to contribute events and information by email.
For those interested in learning more about private sponsorship of refugees, here are some frequently asked questions answered by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, as well as a manual created by the Anglican Diocese.
The Intercultural Association of Greater Victoria provides services to help settle new immigrants and refugees and is helping groups of Victoria citizens privately sponsor refugees. To donate or learn more about their work go here: http://www.icavictoria.org/

The University of Victoria History Department has a committee that is raising funds to sponsor and settle a family here in Victoria.
